We’re offering something truly rare: Maine-grown Belon oysters, one of the most distinctive oyster varieties in the world.
Belons are a completely different species from the oysters we typically harvest and sell here in New England. While our local oysters are Crassostrea virginica, known for their clean brine, balanced salinity, and crisp finish, Belons are Ostrea edulis, the legendary European flat oyster.
